1. What is Reading Comprehension?
Reading Comprehension (RC) tests your ability to understand a passage and answer questions based on it. In NDA, passages are usually short to medium length and the questions are direct if you read carefully.

2. NDA-Friendly RC Strategy
- Step 1 – Quick First Read
Read the passage normally once to understand the overall idea.
हिंदी: पहली बार सिर्फ सामान्य समझ के लिए पढ़ें, शब्द-दर-शब्द मत अटकिए। - Step 2 – Read the Questions
Look at all the questions. Underline key words in your mind (names, years, reasons, etc.).
हिंदी: प्रश्न पहले देखने से दिमाग को पता रहेगा कि किस तरह की जानकारी ढूँढनी है। - Step 3 – Targeted Second Read
Read again, this time slowly. Focus on lines related to the questions. - Step 4 – Answer from Passage, Not from Outside Knowledge
Your own knowledge should not override the passage. - Step 5 – Eliminate Wrong Options
Remove options that are clearly opposite, extreme, or not mentioned.
3. Common Question Types
- Fact-based: Direct information from the passage.
- Inference-based: What can be logically concluded.
- Vocabulary in context: Meaning of a word as used in the passage.
- Main idea / Title: Central theme of the passage.
हिंदी: Fact = सीधे लिखा है, Inference = लिखा नहीं पर समझ में आता है, Main idea = पूरा passage किस बारे में है।

Discipline is the backbone of any defence force. A disciplined soldier follows orders,
maintains self-control, and thinks of the team before himself. Without discipline, even
a strong army can fail in critical situations.
