1. Classroom Explanation
A preposition is a word placed before a noun or pronoun to show its relation with another word in the sentence (time, place, direction, etc.).
हिंदी: Preposition noun/pronoun का संबंध दिखाता है – समय, स्थान, दिशा आदि के रूप में (in, on, at...).
2. Common Prepositions
- Time – at, on, in, during, before, after
- Place – in, on, at, under, over, between, among
- Direction – to, towards, into, onto, from
3. Important Rules for NDA
- Use “at” for exact time (at 5 pm), “on” for days (on Monday), “in” for months/years (in July, in 2025).
- “Between” is used for two; “among” for more than two.
- “Different from” is preferred, not “different than”.
- After “discuss”, do not use “about” in formal English (We discussed the plan).
