Early Life – Struggle and Determination

Growing up in rural Haryana, the family could afford very little – sometimes just one khadi dress for the entire year. School fees were managed with great difficulty, and after matriculation, the family situation forced him to pause his formal education.

During this period, he worked alongside his elder brother, supporting the family through farming and labour-style work. Teachers encouraged him to continue studies, but circumstances did not permit college admission at that time.

Around this time, he came across a line in an advertisement: “Join the Navy & See the World.” This slogan touched him deeply. With renewed enthusiasm, he prepared for the Indian Navy entrance examination.

By the blessings of God, he cleared the competitive examination and joined the Indian Navy on 3rd July 1981. This became the turning point of his life.

Indian Navy Journey – 37 Years of Service

After basic training, he was selected for the Communication Branch, where the working language was English. Coming from a Hindi-medium background, this was a major challenge. Through dedicated hard work and continuous learning, he quickly adapted and built strong proficiency in English.

Across his professional courses in the Navy, he consistently scored high marks and, on several occasions, secured top positions in fleet-level competitive written exams, winning multiple trophies.

For his dedication and performance, he was recognised by the Commander-in-Chief with two formal Commendations. Over time, he rose to the rank of Honorary Sub Lieutenant before retirement, completing 37 years of distinguished naval service.

Higher Education – IIM Ahmedabad Alumnus

In spite of not being able to attend college immediately after school, the desire for higher education never left him. After establishing himself in the Navy, he pursued further studies and was selected for the Senior Management Programme (SMP) at IIM Ahmedabad, one of India’s top business schools.

On successful completion of the programme, he was awarded IIMA Alumni status – a proud milestone in his journey from a small village to India’s most reputed management institute.

After retiring from the Navy, he worked in the corporate sector for around 4–5 years in senior management roles, gaining experience in leadership, operations and organisational development.

Family & Values

Shri Ram Bhaj Rawat ji and his family strongly believe in education, discipline and hard work. Their journey reflects how the right values and continuous effort can transform one generation and uplift the next.

By God’s grace and the family’s collective effort, his three sons have studied at some of India’s most premier institutes:

• Two sons completed their MBA (PGP) from IIM Lucknow.
• One son completed his MBA (PGP) from IIFT Delhi.

This journey – from a financially struggling rural background to three children at IIM/IIFT – is a powerful example of what education and determination can achieve.

Shyamsthali LLP – SSCracker.in: Vision & Mission

With this life experience, Shri Ram Bhaj Rawat ji founded Shyamsthali LLP and created SSCracker.in with a simple mission:

“Education for all. Opportunity for all – especially for students from villages and Hindi-medium backgrounds.”

• To provide free and affordable online coaching for competitive exams like NDA, SSC, Police, Bank, CAT, CET and more.
• To design content that is bilingual (English + Hindi) so that rural students can learn with confidence.
• To give structured notes, mock tests and study plans instead of random scattered content.
• To show, through his own life story, that no background is too small if one is ready to work hard and stay disciplined.
